03:45 am - Advice

I was hoping someone here may help me.

The thing is: I'm terrible at hairdos, so I always end up with my hair on a ponytail and that's it.

I have wavy/somewhat curly hair & it almost reaches my waist. I absolutely love Heidi braids. I'd love to try those on me, but:

1) I only know how to do simple braids;
2) I live by myself, so I have no one to make them for me;

My question, if it's not asking too much: is it possible that I can do heidi braids by myself?
If so, can someone pleeeeeeaaaaseeee teach me what I have to do?

This is a pics i've browsed (although this ones leave their hair on their shoulders, which is not my intent):

05:29 pm - Help Me Tease!
Hi! I have curly, thick, long hair... And I know nothing about styling. I have the worst time getting my hair to tease well - I need height!

What's the best way to go about getting some good teased height that will stay around all day?

07:13 pm - headband braid request
First thing to do is part the hair just an inch behind where you want your "headband" to sit..... You want the end of your braid to be hidden under your hair so you need to further your part past your ear....one of the keys to making it look like a headband are stay as close to the partline as you can, start wih a small peice of hair near the part...and split it into 3 peices....take a horizontal section of hair from forehead to part and add it to the peice on the right and bring it UNDER the middle peice.  (The other key to the headband braid is DO NOT EVER add hair to the peice on the left, only bring in hair from the right side.)just keep repeating the cycle--gather hair with the right peice, bring it under the middle, take the left peice (with no added hair) and bring it under the middle(all while staying very close to the part line.)...continue to braid past the ear and tie it off or continue braiding to the end if you want it to look like my picture

09:50 pm - 30's/modern hair style
So I always style my cousin's hair (shes the one in the picture at the bottom with the loong curls)  Well she recently chopped her hair off and I was nervous because she wanted me to come up with ways to style it that would be sophisticated or good for an event, and I've only done dressy styles on long hair.  So I gave myself a challenge and here's what I came up with.

I'd love to see what you all can do with a short hairstyle, so I can get more ideas on how to style my cousin's hair ;)

04:32 pm - Hello.

I already posted this in my journal, but I figured I can post these here as well.

I did the cut, colour, and blowdry. I'm actually kind of proud of myself.
